My Favourite apps, websites and ideas to use in any classroom
GEOGUESSR - is a web-based geographic game where participants try and guess where the place is based solely on photographs and it uses Google Street View. This is a very fun game if you have a few extra minutes or as an intro into Geography and Problem solving. Look at the landscapes, skies, and even road signs for clues. You can play this as a whole class or in Challenge Mode. Have fun and start by clicking the button below!
KAHOOT - this is a game based platform where you can play interactive games that others have made or join in the fun and make your own. I have had many students show their learning by designing a game based on whatever topics we were learning. We would then play the games as a class and was always impressed by how much they loved playing and making these games. Kahoot takes learning to a new level!
QUIZLET - is a free website that provides learning tools/ flashcards and they can be used for studying or in a game mode. You can make your own set or play one that's been made by another educator or student. Their mission is to help students practice and master whatever they are learning. It's fun too!
PADLET- is an online virtual bulletin board where students can collaborate, reflect and share their ideas, links and pictures in a secure location. You can share your padlet link through a QR code so even younger students can take part in creating a Padlet.
EPIC - is a digital library for kids 12 and under. It has been called the "NETFLIX" of kids books. Educators get a free account and can add in their students to use the website or app for free. Parents and families can purchase a license to use the website or app at home for $7.99 per month. EPIC has not only books but many educational videos and quizzes too and some of these videos are available in both English and Spanish. My students loved the ability to personalize their own library and to put in reviews about the books they read. They do like to collect the badges and make their avatars so be sure and build in some "fun play time" to the reading lessons.
